Unidentified squid, Teuthida sp. (14 cm)
Kenting National Park, Taiwan

A squid hunting at night. Squids are among only a few animals in the world that can change their skin colour in an instant. The reason may be to become invisible, or instead to be seen, or to communicate with other squid. Thousands of colour-changing cells called chromatophores work together and function rather like pixels.
