Flying fish, Cypselurus sp. (2 cm)
Longdong, Taiwan

Can a fish really fly? The fastest fish in the ocean, such as the marlin, swordfish, tuna and dorado, have flying fish on their menu. It is actually these fast predators that have driven evolution and equipped flying fish with their remarkable flying ability. When they are trying to escape, they can use their wing-like fins to fly long distances just above the ocean surface.
