Unidentified juvenile eel or Moray eel (3.5 cm)
Balayan Bay, Luzon, the Philippines
A juvenile eel curls up like a cobra to confuse predators and to avoid looking like a protein-rich fish. Its transparent body makes the eel extra difficult to discover. Our own European eel also has a transparent stage, when it is called a glass eel.
