African pompano, Alectis ciliaris (25 cm)
Balayan Bay, Luzon, the Philippines

This type of trevally is a true cosmopolitan and is found in all tropical oceans world wide. Adult individuals often hunt along the coastlines but the stunning juveniles live in the open ocean and their long gleaming blue fins resemble the stinging tentacles of a jellyfish.
