Wunderpus octopus, Wunderpus photogenicus (4 cm)
Balayan Bay, Luzon, the Philippines

This is a juvenile wunderpus, an octopus that was scientifically described as late as 2006. As a juvenile it looks completely different compared to the adult stage. Its glass-like body makes the wunderpus hard to detect and its transparency increases its chances of survival out in the open ocean.
